A cooler than normal July with more rain than usual and the lawn looks as good as it ever has. For this time of year, anyway. So I thought I'd better get some pictures. There have been past summers when the lawn looked so bad I could have cried. Grubs were eating the grass roots and I had weeds and various weed grasses. I finally bought a book called The Lawn Geek by an MSU sod specialist, which told me how to fertilize and mow and kill grubs (3 applications a year of milky spore for 2 years).
