Some think this is grandfather Walter Harry, but I think it is Pete. What he is doing is tying cauliflower - tying the leaves around the young head so it stays white rather than turning yellow in the sun.

Tying cauliflower wasn't as much fun as you'd think. It was done in the fall, often in the morning when it was chilly and wet.
